Pro-Mark Featured in ROCK BAND 2

Pro-Mark Corporation, the world’s largest manufacturer exclusively crafting drumsticks, mallets, and percussion accessories is featured prominently throughout the best-selling and popular new video game Rock Band® 2.

According to Pat Brown, the company’s Director of Sales and Marketing, “Pro-Mark drummers with songs in the game include The Reverend (Avenged Sevenfold), Simon Kirke (Bad Company), Gordy Knudtson (Steve Miller Band), Doane Perry (Jethro Tull), Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Roger Taylor (Duran Duran), Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Dee Plakas (L7), Joe Plumber and Jeremiah Green (Modest Mouse), Spencer Smith (Panic At The Disco), Zac Farro (Paramore), Bobby Blotzer (RATT), Neil Peart (RUSH), Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), and Gina Schock (The Go-Go’s).

Brown also noted that Pro-Mark drummers Neil Peart (Rush), Peter Criss (KISS), Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Butch Vig (Garbage), Phil Selway (Radiohead), Eric Kretz (Stone Temple Pilots), Patty Schemel (Hole), Bruce Gary (The Knack), Mick Tucker (Sweet), Michael Cartellone (Lynyrd Skynyrd), and Albert Brouchard (Blue Oyster Cult) were also featured in the original Rock Band® video game soundtrack.

Concluding with a piece of pop culture, Brown said, “People will remember the legendary ‘More Cowbell’ sketch on Saturday Night Live a few seasons ago with Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken. In reality, it was Albert Brouchard playing cowbell on Blue Oyster Cult’s Don’t Fear The Reaper…overdubbed after the track had been cut.”

“Rock Band” was developed by Harmonix, the world’s premier music video game company in the world, and published by MTV Games, a division of Viacom’s MTV Networks. It’s incredibly realistic and challenges rockers to master drums, lead guitar, bass guitar, and vocals

Pro-Mark & Blue Devils

Pro-Mark Corporation, the world’s largest manufacturer exclusively crafting drumsticks, mallets, and percussion accessories, and the Blue Devils, 12-time and current World Champion, have come together in a new historic partnership. Both organizations have recently celebrated their 50th anniversaries and made the joint announcement today.
"Since the very beginning, the Blue Devils have been the standard of excellence on the field, winning every accolade known to the world of Drum Corps. Each year, hundreds of drummers compete to win one of the few precious slots in the percussion section. Why? Because they want to play for the best. Looking to the future, The Blue Devils concluded that Pro-Mark is the best match in terms of product quality, production capability, and personnel. We’re looking forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that has long been associated with both organizations," Pro-Mark president Maury Brochstein said.

Blue Devils executive director David Gibbs noted, "The Blue Devils have a system of education and performance excellence that will now be available in collaboration with Pro-Mark. This relationship will be the first of its kind and Pro-Mark is uniquely equipped to partner with our organization. The Blue Devils and Pro-Mark plan on sharing our combined 100 years of experience and system of excellence in a new and exciting series of products."

Brochstein concluded, "The Blue Devils and Pro-Mark share a long history of innovation. We’re anxious to continue building on that tradition as we move forward together."
